Dr. Can Yang Joins SIP Rock Physics and Inversion Team


(ABERDEEN, United Kingdom: May 4, 2012) Seismic Image Processing (, a premier supplier of integrated seismic processing and rock physics services to the oil and mining industries, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Can Yang as Geophysicist to its Rock Physics Team. In this role, Dr. Yang brings to the team his experience in 4D (time-lapse) seismic and AVO.

“Dr. Yang is a welcome addition to our Rock Physics Team,” said Jagat Deo, CEO. “Can’s appointment enables SIP to meet growing demand in Northern Europe for consulting services in inversion and rock physics. His experience expands our service offering to include 4D seismic services and presents an opportunity to extend our business into the Chinese market.”

Dr. Yang is a graduate in Geophysics from Yangtze University, China, and obtained his M.Sc. in Geology from China University of Geosciences, Beijing. He was awarded a Ph.D. in Geophysics from Uppsala University, Sweden. Yang has presented technical papers and case studies at international conferences mainly involved in 4D seismic.
